Hello! Worcester County United players and parents! As you read this you may be shoveling snow or awaiting the cooler weather.... remember soon we will be in sunny Florida !! We have 3 teams going to the Disney Showcase 2009 .
Some important information to remember: Everyone should be receiving an email or USPS mailed letter regarding their invitation to participate in Disney2009. Please hand in ALL your paperwork as soon as possible using the links to download/print the forms listed below- PLAYERS - please remember to bring the missing items to the very next practice.

Mandatory Meeting: December 6th at 6pm -Hitquarters for Parents only - during practice - please bring your questions to this meeting.
Practice Dates: Please mark your calendar December 6, 13, 20, 27 January 10, 17, 24, 31 all from 5-7pm at HitQuarters in Shrewsbury, MA.
Game Dates: February 6, 7, and 8th 2009

!!! Field Hockey Gear Checklist !!!
Flight Information: It is assumed that all players will NOT be traveling with the team unless you have let us know via email. Players, if you will or will not be traveling with the team let us know THIS week on or before December 6th - (email information@wcufha.com ). Players flying without a parent will fly with the WCU staff. Every player traveling will need to have, on there person, an official identification card - either driver's license or Passport - we highly recommend a passport for efficiency, this may take a while to process so please plan accordingly. To apply for a passport click here. Players need to be at the hotel by 5pm on February 5th - please take this into consideration when booking flights. Games begin early on the 6th, remember the reason for this trip is to play highly competitive field hockey. Suggested return flights home would be Sunday after 6pm-reminder the field is about an hours drive to the airport. There are games all three days.

High School: If you play in a winter varsity sport you will need to speak with your school's athletic director about acquiring an MIAA waiver to participate in the Disney Tournament. This is not, generally, difficult but you do need to give your AD at least 45 days notice minimum.
Hotel Information: Players will room together (February 5th, 6th & 7th). We have ONLY reserved rooms for Players and Coaches. We will be staying at the Holiday Villas in the Lucaya units. If you would like to stay at the Holiday Villas you must make your own reservations seperate from the team and contact the hotel directly at 1.800.344.3959 - we do not have a negotiated parent rate.

College Recruiting information - remember it is NEVER too early (freshman, sophomore, juniors and seniors!) to send your letters/emails to coaches as a reminder you are interested in attending their school, recruitment and you hope they are able to view your play at the Showcase. Be sure that the email account username you (the player) are using is appropriate. There were over 150 College Coaches at the Showcase in 2008 - this means that they along with their assistant coaches were watching the fields to see YOU play !!! Jersey numbers will be designated so that you can provide coaches with your number and team name - if you have not received your jersey number by December 29th please email information@wcufha.com.
To participate you MUST have ALL of the following paperwork completed and handed in by December 29th!!!!:
USField Hockey Member Number - Please ensure that we have a COPY of your USFHA membership card with number and that your membership is good through the ENTIRE month of February 2009. <https://webpoint.usfieldhockey.com/wp15/IntraLock/Login.asp> No current USFHA membership#, no play.
Disney Waiver: We MUST get this to the tournament officials by 1st week of January - so the last December practice is the last possible day to hand this in !! <http://adisneyworldsports.disney.go.com/media/dwws_v0220/en_US/pdf/09FHSWaiver.pdf> Note: this is NOT the same as the USFHA waiver. No waiver, no play.

WCUFHA Questionnaire – This information will be used on YOUR Player Profile to be completed and added to the coaches booklet which will be handed out at the Showcase to each recruiting College Coach in attendance. It is imperative that this information be acccurate, ON TIME (in by 12.29) and readable when submitted:
